Cousin Rey

Just about 2 weeks shy of 7 years ago, my oldest cousin, Rey, passed away from a brain tumor. He had 2 sons, Frankie and Joshua. Today, we celebrated his oldest son's graduation from USC. USC was also Rey's alma mater. I couldn't believe how much Frankie looks like Rey. He even walks like him.
Joshua is 11 now. It will be interesting to see if he has his characteristics as well. He does look like him already. Joshua is our Godson. We got together for dinner last week with him after not seeing him for quite a few months. I need to make sure that we see him more often. I don't want him to think that we are forgetting him.
It was nice to have the whole family together. Even some cousins from Colorado came in. Even the ex's got to come. I would post pictures of Rey, but they are all before digital and I'd have to take them out of the frames & scan them.
I still think about Rey, especially when we have family get-togethers. I'm sure his boys think about him all the time. I can't imagine how they can get along, but I guess you do what you can when you don't have a choice.

Fish Tank part II

Friday night after posting the picture of the fishtank, Jose decides at 11:30 at night to get a sponge & stick it in the fishtank to clean off the algae. By noon the next day we were down 2 fish. Poor Snow White and Buzz Lightyear. Which meant that Saturday he had to clean the tank the right way. I can see that I am going to have to remind him to clean the tank properly, more often. That afternoon, we visited Petsmart & got 2 new fish, Buzz Lightyear (again) and I think we are calling the other one Nemo. He is a goldfish, but he has a lucky fin. It's a tiny fin with a little black spot. So far they are all getting along.

Here's our fish tank. As you can see it really needs to be cleaned. It almost looks fake in this picture. We used to have a snail to help out, but (s)he kicked the bucket. Guess it's time for a new one.

too long of a weekend!

This weekend was too long & too busy!! Fri night we went to Disneyland from 6 to 11. Sat I went to a breakfast with some internet friends. Got home, wrapped a gift, then went to the in-laws house for a visit. Right after that, we went to a birthday party. After that, we went to dinner with our Godson & his mom. Sunday we went to the Dodger game then went to a friends house for dinner & to watch the Laker game. Sunday the loser neighbors had a party & woke us up at 2:30. DH called the cops & they showed up a little after 3:00, but by then I was wide awake! Luckily the kids slept until 9:15 the next morning. Monday was laundry & errand day. I had to go to work today, just to rest!!!

Tomorrow morning, DD is getting an award from school. So, I'll go to see that. She'll be really excited, she doesn't know yet.
