long time no post

It's been a while since I've posted. Not much has changed, except for the fact that after 7 years of loyalty I was laid off of work. Thanks alot! I'd mention names, bit I still need a reference, so they will remain nameless!

Aside from that here's a few little tid-bits that are on my mind today:
  • When I woke up at 6:30 this morning, (thanks daylight savings time) it was raining. About 2 hours later I heard a neighbor washing off his patio area for about 30 minutes. Really???
  • Daylight savings time, anyone know who I can write to to get rid of it for California???
  • Why am I the only one eating the Halloween cake that I baked, anyone else live here, want to help?
  • I can't wait for Tues, so we can be over the election and twenty thousand propositions. My daughter is reading the signs, I hope she's not going around saying yes on 8, since I'm not voting yes on 8, but apparently the neighbor is.
  • I already mailed in my ballot. Yea me!
  • I think I owe my SIL $40, but I keep forgetting to ask her.
  • I am so hooked on the Parking Wars TV show.
  • I heard King of the Hill was cancelled. That sucks, I love that show.
  • After I updated my PC with something from Microsoft, whenever I shut down, I get a message that something is still running, sprtsomething.exe. I don't even know what that is.
  • Houses in RB gave out good candy this Halloween. Thanks neighbors!!
  • Some people in my city were not so nice this Halloween: http://tinyurl.com/rbobama

Since, I got up at 6:30 today, I am ready for bed. Good night......

work

Why does work blow? Does management think we are all stupid? They lay off someone 10 days ago & think no one will notice, so they don't make an announcement? Hello, everyone knows that there's going to be more lay-offs, so get them over with, so we can all resume normal life. Geez!

Friday notes

I haven't posted in a while. Not much going on. Had a pretty good laugh today. I have a few friends at work, but generally, I keep work as work. But, my 1 good friend tells me today that she was at Happy Hour with work people a couple weeks ago. Alot of the marketing people were there. As a back story, I really don't like the marketing department because I feel like they get special treatment and all kinds of perks that no one else gets. Which is really funny too, because DH does marketing & we used to enjoy those perks ourselves. Anyways, one of the marketing girls asks my friend what was up with me. My friend tells her that I am cool, but that I am not really a people person. The marketing girl says that she wants to be my friend, but that I never talk to her! I think that is so funny, yet true. I don't even know why she would want to be my friend. She's probably in her early 20's, cute, single, no kids, dresses really nice. I have no idea what I would bring to that friendship! I think I'm going to toy with her. Be nice & say hi one day & then go back to ignoring her the next! I might have to give her a shot though, there's so much drama with the other work friends that I was thinking I might just have to keep the 1 good one & just be professional with the rest. We'll see what happens!

Randomness for a Friday

  • I forgot to add to my last post, I am already over the Mamma Mia movie and it's just opening today. Meryl Streep, really?? Don't get me wrong, I saw the musical and liked it. I'm not a hater just to be a hater.
  • This new Batman movie with Heath Ledger, I have to wonder if he hadn't died so tragically, would there be all the hype over this?
  • I hate ants. Why do they just show up at your house, like an uninvited guest looking for food?

Shoutout to my friend and only regular reader, Lexy. She's going through a hard time right now, so if your reading say a quick prayer for her and her family!

randomness for a Tuesday

Here are some random thoughts I had tonight:

  • That Swing Vote movie has to be the worst movie of the year. How could 1 vote determine who's president of the US???

  • I need to get some Nioxin shampoo, since my RA medication makes my hair fall out. The shampoo costs like $50 though. For that price it should leave gold dust in my hair.

  • Riding a Razor scooter is not as easy as kids make it seem.

  • Cupcakes from Costco are really mini cakes, but delicious.

  • I saw this car when I was at lunch with some friends. If this is your car, it's not as cool as you think it is.

  • Here's a pic of Sammy's Build a Bear in a dress that used to be Sammy's when she was a baby.

My baby is 6!

Yesterday was Sammy's Birthday. She turned 6. I can't believe it. I can still remember Jose's and mine last meal without kids. It was at Chili's in Torrance on July 11th. That night I had to go into the hospital to be induced. Over a day later, she was born by c-section.
Sammy
had a party for her school friends on Saturday and we had a small party for the family on Sunday. Her cousin spent the night on Sat too. All she wanted was a scooter, so of course we had to get it for her. Her other cousin helped teach her how to ride it. She also learned on 4th of July weekend how to ride a bike.
She's such a big girl! Happy Birthday Baby!

Back from Nuevo Vallarta

So, we've actually been back from vacation in Neuvo Vallarta for a few weeks now. I'm not so sure about adding pictures on here, that's why they are all over the place. Vacation was good. We went with another family that we have know for 4 years now.
This is my favorite sunset picture. I'm so proud of myself.
The Grand Mayan resort was great. They have a lazy river that we went on daily. The Sun was HOT! Andrew decided he would go to the potty for the 1st time and didn't repeat that again. I'll spare you all that pic! We didn't go anywhere except into town once & Wal-Mart twice. They really have everything you could ever need there. Including fresh baked Mexican Bread, fresh tortillas and Kung Fu Panda cups for the kids.
